In the session, participants of the two parties exchanged information on Government policies on science – techniques, technology use and development of Vietnam and Russia for the current period as well as the assessment on the current situation of S&T cooperation development over the past time, discussed on measures to strengthen the cooperation between Vietnam and Russia in the coming time.
Since the time the IXth session held in Moscow in 4/2009, so far scientific agencies of the two countries have actively implemented resolutions made in the IXth session of Vietnam – Russia Committee on S&T cooperation. As a result, 8 projects on S&T cooperation have been implemented and been able to be applied in practice in the coming time, other 8 projects are being implemented and promised to bring in good results.
Cooperation activities with Russian Scientific Academy, Vietnam – Russia Tropical Center, basic scientific research fund… have also been carried out well. Research cooperation results achieved by Vietnam – Russia Tropical Center have been highly appreciated by leaders of the two countries. This is a model on the mixed research foundation of the two countries.
In this session, the two parties agreed to strengthen Government’s supports, create flexible mechanism for Vietnam – Russia Tropical Center to operate, strengthen bilateral cooperation between Vietnam’s Academy of Science and Technology and Russia’s Scientific Academy …
Russian Deputy Minister of Education and Sciences Mr. IU.P. Senchiurin highly appreciated results and progress of cooperation projects and emphasized that the cooperation within the framework of Vietnam – Russia Committee on S&T has been the opportunity for enriching Russia’s experience in S&T in the international cooperation.
Delivering a speech in the session, Mr. Trần Quốc Thắng said that the session took place in the context that the two countries have determined to strengthen more the comprehensively strategic cooperation and expressed his pleasures to see in the economic and social development context over the past time the two countries have achieved many significant achievements. This will be a favorable opportunity for S&T cooperation between Vietnam and Russia. Positions of the two countries in the international context have been significantly improved over the past time, therefore the S&T cooperation needs to continue strengthening in order to meet requirements for developing cooperative relations between the two countries.
When the session completed, Vietnamese and Russian representatives singed the Session Minute, agreed the plan and measures for developing the cooperation between the two countries in the coming time.
