China – Vietnam Cooperation Forum on Certification and Reorganization of Product Quality

Mr. Nguyễn Quân, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology led the Vietnamese delegation of 20 participants who were representatives from MOST, Directorate of Standards, Metrology and Quality (MOST), Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, representatives of enterprises and Vietnam’s General Consulate…. In Guangzhou to participate in the Forum. Chinese side was AQSIQ’s leaders; officials of the Certification and Accreditation Administration of China (CNCA) and nearly 160 representatives from Chinese enterprises which were interested in commerce and investment with Vietnam.

In the Forum, there have been 11 reports in which 9 Vietnamese reports were presented. These reports were focused on issues of introducing legal documents and certification and accreditation activities of the two countries. The information presented in the Forum provided good opportunities for managers and enterprises of the two countries to share experience, strengthen understanding of Government’s requirements of the two countries when they carry out activities relating to import, exports and investment. Although the world economy recession recently has significant impacts on the economy and trade transactions of many large countries in the world, those between China and Vietnam have still been at positive rates. This Forum would contribute favorable conditions for trade and good transactions between the two countries.

During the time the Forum took place, Mr. Sun Dawei, Deputy Minister of AQSIQ had a cordial meeting with Deputy Minister Nguyễn Quân and had discussions. The two parties exchanged, highly appreciated cooperative results achieved in the field of Standards, Metrology and Appropriateness Review and agreed to promote the cooperation in this field for the coming time. At the end of the Discussion, leaders of the two Ministries signed the Minute of Discussion.

The Forum ended and was very successful. The two parties agreed to organize the next Forum in Hanoi, Vietnam in this August.
