Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Lang met with the delegation from Carroll University (the US)

On 25/10/2010, in Hanoi Deputy Minister of Science and Technology (MOST) Nguyen Van Lang had a cordial meeting with the delegation from Carroll University (US) led by Doctor Doug Hastad, Director of the University to pay a visit and work in Vietnam.

In the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Lang and Director Doug Hastad shared cooperation opportunities between MOST and Carroll University in the field of S&T training management. On the basis of S&T cooperation between the Government of the Socialist Republics of Vietnam and Government of the United States of America, the Deputy Minister entirely supported the contents of training cooperation discussed by the S&T Management School and Carroll University and proposed the two schools would actively organized the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

It is known that recently the delegation from the S&T Management School had organized a study tour to survey, exchange experience and look for cooperation opportunities with US Universities in the field of S&T training management. Especially for Carroll University, the two parties have exchanged and discussed on training cooperation and hoped to sign the MOU. The two parties agreed on the contents of cooperation activities as exchanging S&T information; organizing study tours; participating in training courses, workshops and themed conferences; exchanging scientific experts in fields of common interests and other cooperation and research activities appropriate with programs of the two parties; establishing common projects which are supported by national development programs of the parties, private sources and international funds …

On behalf of MOST’s leaders, the Deputy Minister expressed his pleasure to meet the delegation of Carroll University and shared his desires that the two parties would expand their cooperative relations, exchange not only within scopes of the two schools but also to those of Vietnamese research units and institutes in general and MOST in particular. At the same time, the cooperation should be expanded in fields of economy, commerce and other fields on which the University has its strengths.
