Minister Hoàng Văn Phong met with Japanese Ambassador

On 21/10/2010, in Hanoi Minister of Science and Technology (MOST) Hoàng Văn Phong had a cordial meeting with Mr. Yasuaki TANIZAKI, new Japanese ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary on the occasion he started his new terms in Vietnam.

In the meeting, Minister Hoàng Văn Phong and Mr. Yasuaki TANIZAKI together reviewed main cooperation activities between the two countries in S&T field and shared cooperation opportunities between the two countries in nuclear electricity field, development of Hoa Lac High-Tech Park and activities to attract Japanese enterprises to come and invest in Vietnam. The two parties expressed desires to strengthen more cooperative relations between Japan and Vietnam, especially in S&T field. Ambassador Yasuaki TANIZAKI affirmed that over the past years cooperative relations between Vietnam and Japan have been improved to the level of strategic partners, in which S&T cooperation has achieved good results. Ambassador Yasuaki TANIZAKI hoped that Vietnam’s MOST would continue its supports for projects on S&T cooperation with Japan and cooperative relations between the two countries would develop more and more closely.

The Minister highly appreciated cooperative relations between Japan and Vietnam and said that Vietnamese Government, including MOST have always considered Japan a strategic partner for Vietnam and been grateful for supports provided by Japanese Government and people to Vietnam’s development process over the past years. At the same time, Vietnam has always paid special attention to supportive and cooperative relations in terms of economic and commercial aspects, of which the two parties have mutual benefits.

Minister Hoàng Văn Phong wished the Ambassador to fulfill well his tasks during his term, which would contribute to promoting S&T cooperative relations between the two parties.
