Promoting cooperation in science and technology between Vietnam and Australia

On April 23rd 2018, Ms. Bui Thi Huy Hop – Deputy director of the Center for Vietnam Science and Technology Internationalization Promotion (VISTIP) had a meeting with the delegate of Curtin University of Australia lead by PhD. Anna Parkin – Head of International Cooperation of Department of Humanities. The meeting was held at the headquater of VISTIP.

During the meeting, the two sides updated priorities of cooperation in this context, also actively discuss specific collaboration activities based on contents from the lastest working session of the two leaders, such as cooperation of deploying applied research for sustainable development; livelihoods in rural and urban areas; nutrition and health care for community…These all are strong fields of Curtin University. Especially, the models of public and privare cooperation in research and application as well as their experience and real models which link the research and demands of industry/market/enterprise were thoroughly discussed. PhD. Anna also shared some proposals of improvement in research-based training programs – one of strengths of Curtin University.

 

VISTIP and Curtin Universities actively discusse

 

After the business trip to Australia of the Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc in the end of March, Vietnam and Australia both agreed the strategic cooperation between the two countries. With the functions and tasks assigned by the Minister of Science and Technology including linking the domestic and international scientific and technological community, supporting enterprises in applying advanced technologies…VISTIP and Curtin University – Top 25 Universities of Australia (2017 Times Higher Education Asia-Pacific University Rankings) and Top 1% of the top universitie on the world (World Universities 2017) will continue exchange for specific cooperations with participation of private section./.
