Aiming to use green energy and sustainable development is the general trend of researching in the world. Recently, the International conference on Research and Develop the use of biofuel sources in Viet Nam: Opportunities and Challenges was successfully co-organized by the Center for Vietnam Science and Technology Internationalization Promotion (VISTIP) and Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences (VAAS) for the objective of exchanging experiences and updating research results related to biofuel productions in Vietnam and advanced countries in the world.
On May 18, 2014, in Hanoi, Ministry of Science and Technology organized the Ceremony to announce Vietnam Science and Technology Day. Participating in the Ceremony were Prime Minister Nguyễn Tấn Dũng, Deputy Minister Vũ Đức Đam, former Vice President Nguyễn Thị Bình, former Deputy Prime Minister Phạm Gia Khiêm, together with many Vietnamese scientists and leaders of some ministries, branches, localities and enterprises.
As delegated by the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and the President of the United States of America Barack Obama, on May 06, 2014, in Hanoi Minister of Science and Technology Nguyễn Quân and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States to Vietnam David Shear officially signed the Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Government of the United States of America on peaceful use of nuclear energy (Agreement 123).
On April 29, 2014, Japanese State decided to officially award the Sun Rising Medal for Mr. Nghiêm Vũ Khải, President of Vietnam – Japan Friendship Association, Former Deputy Minister of Science and Technology.
