Deputy Minister Le Dinh Tien met with Ukraine’s Ambassador

On March 30, 2012 in Hanoi Minister of Science and Technology (MOST) Nguyễn Quân had a meeting and working session with General Director of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation, Sergei V.Kirienko.

On March 27, 2012, the Management Board of Hòa Lạc High Tech Park – Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and the Information Technology Promotion Agency - IPA (Japan’s Ministry of Economics, Trade and Industry - METI) signed the Agreement of Mutual Acknowledgement on Standards of Information Technology Skills.

In the morning of Mach 21, 2012, in Hanoi took place the Opening Ceremony of the 2nd International Exhibition on recycled and dispersed energy solutions (Enerexpo Vietnam 2012).

On March 16, 2012, at the office of Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) took place the Signing Ceremony of the Agreement between the Government of Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Government of the Russian Federation on cooperation to bring used nuclear materials of research reactor piles in the Russian Federation.

From March 12 – 16, 2012, the mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) came to work with Vietnam Agency for Radiation and Nutrition Safety (VARANS) on reviewing and proposing amendment and supplement of some articles in Law on Atomic Energy (AE) in 2008. Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Lê Đình Tiến chaired the meeting with the mission.

On February 27, 2012, in Hanoi Vietnam’s Minister of Science and Technology (MOST) Nguyen Quan had a meeting and working session with the mission of Ministry of Science and Arts of Saxony State (Federal Republic of Germany) led by Professor Doctor Sabine von Schorlemer – Minister of Science and Arts of Saxony State.

These were ideas shared by member of Vietnam – Hungary Division of Scienceand Technology Cooperation in the working session on February 22, 2012 at the office of Ministry of Science and Technology with the co-chair of two chairmen, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Dinh Tien and General Director of Hungary’s Science and Technique Cooperation and Consulting Cooperate Pados Laszlo.

In the 20^th anniversary of ASEAN – China partner – dialogue relations, the first year ASEAN– China Free Trade Area has been officially established and two years since the Memorandum of Understanding on standards, technical specifications, appropriateness assessment between ASEAN –China (in short called TBT/MOU) was signed (October 2009), on October 22, 2011, in Nanning (China), the first ASEAN– China Ministerial-level Meeting on Cooperation in the field of technical barriers to trade (TBT) was organized.

In the morning of October 20, 2011, in Hanoi Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Dinh Tien had an official meeting with the Head of Politics and Economic Section of the British Embassy David Edmondson. Attending the meeting were representatives from Vietnam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety (VARANS) and Department of International Cooperation.

In the afternoon of October 20, 2011, in Hanoi Deputy Minister of Science and TechnologyLe Dinh Tien met and worked with Mr. Thomas Countryman –Assistant Minister of the US’s Department of Foreign Affairs in charge of International and Non-nuclear Security. Participating in the working session, in the Vietnamese side were representatives from Vietnam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety, Vietnam Atomic Energy Commission, Department of Atomic Energy, Department of International Cooperation. In addition, representatives from Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also participated in the working session.

On October 13, 2011, in Hanoi Vietnam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety (VARANS) coordinated with Japanese Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) to organize the Workshop on Nuclear Security. Doctor Le Chi Dung– VARANS’ Deputy Director attended and made the opening speech at the Workshop.

Accepting the invitation of Vietnam’s Minister of Science and Technology (MOST) Nguyen Quan, Lao’s Minister of Science and Technology Boviengkham Vongdara led the delegation to visit Vietnam. On October 11, 2011 in Hanoi Ministers of Science and Technology of the two countries co-chaired the 2^nd session of Vietnam – Laos Science and Technology Cooperation Committee.

On October 10, 2011, Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Quan had a meeting and working session with Mr. Tadahiro MATSHUSHITA- Japan’s Deputy Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).
